Help HTC desire Contacts

Hello people,

I am using my HTC desire for about a year but face the following problem:
I store my contacts on the extrenal memory card. But somehow - they land in the internal memory occupying the precious space in that memory.
any explanation?

You can backup the contacts in the memory card, but that has nothing to do with them displaying on your contacts list.
How large is the Contacts Storage? You can check that in Settings-Applications-Manage Applications.
Perhaps, you could keep only a single Contacts set to display? For example delete all contacts from My Phone and keep only Google Contacts.
