HTC Desire Debranding Orange

I'm thinking of unlocking, rooting and debranding my (orange) HTC Desire. What i was wondering is is it possible to reverse this if i need to get it repaired under warranty? If so, how?

Not possible with Orange - I'm in the same boat, still rooted though have been since about 4 weeks after buying
Only way to get warratny repairs is too run the RUU 2.3 gingerbread as apparently HTC will honour warranties with this flashed.

So why not root it and do whatever. Then if you need to send it back apply the RUU 2.3 ... easy!
