Help htc desire during power on keeps loop up the evervol logo animation.

Hi to all,

Let me start by thanking forum's members for their prompt and quick responses when things have gone really bad regarding our mobiles.
And now the bad news as mentioned above :p...
Yesterday i flashed the evervol rom to my htc desire. After wiping out cache and data and flashed memory phone powered on as should be having applied ics. The thing is that, after an accidental change of the internal memory partition of the cache from unmount to mount from recovery boot menu, phone at start up always loops at the evervol animation logo and o i cant go further anymore. No volume up or down buttons pressed combined with power button seems to do any difference,so I am stacked to this point.
Finally i just want to add that original cause for proceeding to this rom was to be able to dedicate more internal memory to phone from the memory card used (sandisk 16gb for android class 10).
Any help-suggestions?

Have you checked the ROM requirements in the ROM thread at xda? Boot loops can be caused by insufficient system partition space or a missing sd card partition if one is required for the ROM to work.

Thanks for the suggestion, I havent so far but i definitely will.Actually i am trying to find a way to access the recovery mode at this fase...

Some additional info that might help towards a solution:
1. ROM flashed is Beta_0.18.2.1.zip (ICS 4.0.3 if i am right)
2. Debugging mode is disabled.
3.To be more accurate desire is not booting at hard reset menu when power on+volume up or down buttons are pressed...
Some additional questions:)
Actually what is the correct compination for desire and ics 4.0.3?
Is there a possility of having lost some file(s) that are related to hard-factory reset? And if yes how can i retrieve them?
Is there a way to connect device to laptop and be recognised through usb cable and have access to phone's files?

You may well need an ext partition for that to work. The first post of the thread doesn't say, and Sandvold's site seems to be missing some pages now. I'd recommend 1GB ext4 in addition to the fat32 partition. The total size of that ROM package, once unzipped, is 45MB larger than the stock Desire's system partition, so I think it very likely that that's why it won't boot - if you don't have a partitioned card it probaby hasn't been able to install successfully.

Can you get into recovery? I can't think how anything you've done would stop it booting into the bootloader, but that seems to be what your post implies. If pressing "volume down" while booting doesn't work, try booting while pressing "back" - that should get you into fastboot mode, from where you should be able to get into bootloader and hence recovery.

If you can get into recovery there are lot of options, not least restoring your nandroid backup and making sure you've undone anything else you did, or flashing a different ROM. What recovery are you using incidentally, and is the phone S-On or S-Off?

You can access the phone over usb using ADB, but for that you either need to boot into android or get into recovery (and if you can do the latter you can fix things anyway). If you can get into the bootloader you can use fastboot to format cache or data, or reboot into recovery.

Any information you can give us about your phone, what you've installed, how it's set up, how it was rooted, might help.

If the primary purpose is to get more storage space, a stable Gingerbread ROM would probably do this better than the less stable ICS or JB ROMs. The Desire All Things Root Guide sticky post has a link to a "root memory faq", which would be a good thing to read as background to understand your options.

Issue solved yesterday, thank you all for your replies.
@HADRON Just now i red your reply and this is what exactly i did yesterday after hours of searching:mad: ( press back+power buttons) and finally managed to access the fastboot menu.
After that i knew what to do and everything run smoothly.

For the record my desire's current status is
internal memory 3 Gb
external memory 13 Gb
Android vers.4.0.4
Kernel vers.tiamat-ics
Mod vers.beta 0.18.2.1-sandvold
And by the way current desire' speed is f@cking awesome!!!:thrasher::thrasher::thrasher::
