HTC Desire GPS

It's just one hardware chip that makes use of Assisted GPS for quick fix. It can function with or without "Assisted".
 
I have a feeling you don't understand the difference between GPS and A-GPS.

Think of GPS as the standard version, that ALL GPS devices have. A-GPS is a little quicker at getting a satellite lock, as it uses the mobile phone signal to tell the phone what satellites to look for..
 
i find mine wont get a gps signal without phone signal, have had people tell me that it can take a few minutes but i have left it for an hour before now :S
