Help Htc desire had LEDs flashing

Hey guys sorry if I'm posting in the wrong area....

So my dad recently got a sgs3 and gave his old desire hd to me, but I had no use for it and left it in my room, few days later I wanted to go on it so I won't to charge it, then after about five seconds in charge the LEDs start flashing red and green! Do i try turning the phone on...it works.. But when It gets to the start up screen ( where you do the slide to unlock ) it freezes and turns off!!

I've tried booting in safe mode, same thing, tried a different battery, same thing and put it in front of an ac for a bit.

Sorry just to put things in short, phones LEDs flash red and green when charging, phone crashes immediately when turned on, and tried new battery's etc....

Any solutions please !!!!!

Hello and welcome to the forums Willthiswork - thanks for joining! :)

How long has the phone not been in use? I guess that your dad had not been experiencing any issues? To be honest, this doesn't sound too good... you've already tried a different battery in it, which would have been the first thing I suggested.

Hang in there... I'm sure that one of our members will be able to offer some other suggestions. I will have a bit of a dig around, to see if I can find anything else for you! :)

After spending two hours working on the phone last night I tried charging it the morning and it was actually charging! LEDs do not flash any more only getting the solid orange light like before! Phone turns on perfectly aswell.

Thank you for your help, and sorry for wasting your time.

I did a hard reset on both battery's, and stuck a bit of paper where the battery should go and moved it from side to side to get anything that was in there out.

sorry i just now saw this, thats a strange prollem indeed. ill file it away in case i see it again. glad you got it working and shared what you did to fix it
