Can anyone help with advice on how to download Email attachments on HTC Desire HD.
I have Acrobat reader App loaded, but it won't open PDF attachments or any for that matter.

Hi Darryl, welcome to Android Forums :)

What happens when you try to open the pdf's with Adobe Reader? Are there any errors that show up or something similar?

You could try using another PDF reader and see if that works. I use ezPDF Reader and there's a trail version here which you can use.

Hi, thanks for reply.
I can click on attachments in emails, and it will show the attached file/s, but when I select or click on this file the screen and address bar just seems to refresh and it stays on the same page, this happens on other files as well as PDF's.
I have only just started using the phone for emails as I am now out of the office a lot, is there maybe an overall setting to allow downloads i should use ?

Are you using the stock email app that came with the phone? I'm just thinking that it could be app related as when I had this phone I could open attachments without much issue.

Could you perhaps try a different email app and see what happens? Apps like K-9 are really good and provide a bit more functionality than the stock app.

If this doesn't work I shall call for help and see if anyone else can figure out what the problem could be.

Hi,
No I am using my web browser to access my companies own server to view emails, is this the issue ? as my normal email app is googlemail which is ok.

It could be the issue, if your gmail is getting attachments without an issue then it could be the browser causing the problem. Most people can access their company emails from the apps on the Play Store so it should be ok for you to try one if you want to.

Hey CDplant
Thanks for all your help today, problem sorted.
Our IT dept, just informed me there is a Mobile version of the company webmail pages, I switched to this as opposed to normal view and hey presto.
Perhaps I should have thought of that (maybe) but we can't all be good at everything
