HTC Desire in HBOOT mode

Ive got a HTC Desire which when turned on is getting into HBoot section repeatedly,
Iam a MAC User and it is not even recognizable by USB on my system, i do have virtual box with Windows Xp tried out over ther aswell dint work....

starts with something like

Bravo pvt1..... etc etc and 4 options:

- fastboot
- recovery
- clear storage
- simlock


I cannot get past this screen! I tried everything I could think off. Power off, waiting, removing sd card, pressing al kinds of buttons but I am stuck now!
even volume keys are not working after this...
Please help!

Iam not sure of "ROOTED?"

I think my bro has upgraded my phone....
It was fine for a day and then started trouble...
