Root htc desire in RUU mode

Hello All!

I recently purchased a HTC DESIRE BRAVO which was a factory release and working fine.
I then decided to have S-OFF and ROOT the phone, which i did without any problems and in turn installed a fresh ROM and everything worked fine.

Then it started to have boot up problems and so i installed fresh Hboot using ANDROID FLASHER, still having problems, again i installed a different Hboot and after doing this a few times the phone stopped working completley.
I then took it up on myself to install the HTCdevs 2.3 RUU in order to make the phone work again! But things got even worse:(
The phone now boots to a Black screen with HTC in the middle of the screen and in each corner a triangle with an exclamation mark in it.
I have tried BORTAKS guide using section 5 a) S-OFF (RUU problems) to fix the problem but no luck!
My laptop can see the phone but only as MY HTC not as an interface, so any help or guidance or downloadable links will be appreciated!!!:)

You will need to fastboot flash the stock hboot for the ruu to run. From off, back and power for fastboot.

Resolved in the other thread.

When you used Android Flasher to change the hboot, is that all you did (i.e. flashed the hboot and rebooted)? If you were flashing the same hboot that would be fine, but also wouldn't change anything at all. If it's a different hboot you need to take a nandroid before flashing the hboot and restore it afterwards - otherwise it's extremely likely that changing the partition sizes will corrupt their contents and leave you with an unbootable phone. The full instructions for changing hboot can be found at alpharev.nl, and I'd suggest just following them :)

Hi, thanks for your input, the problem i had was infact (suggested by yourself) re the other thread, that i had cm7 hboot and not because i was S-OFF!

What i did was flash Alpharevs downgrader .img (HBOOT) and then ran the HTC rev 2.3 upgrade RUU, and it all worked!, but according to you i might not be able to S-OFF again, but i'm glad that the phone is working for now!!
I might try later down the line if i want to get the phone S-OFF again, because at the moment it's back being S-ON.

Thanks again.

Mat.
