HTC Desire, no usb, no sd

Hi Forum
I've been using this forum for a while; upgrading my other half's desire [intermittent unresponsive screen] to CM10 Jellybean, after the upgrade the screen problem remained to I moved as much as i could to the sd card in the vague hope more memory might help the screen problem.
My issue now may have nothing to do with the above?
The phone lost both sd card and usb access shortly after i installed a game. The phone will not read any sd card [tried a few]. Recovery cannnot mount the sd card or usb. No virus on the sd card.
My backups are on the sd card and the PC, neither of which I can get to.
The phone will allow sim unlock but cannot see the phone network, no signal. Astro + Titanium are on the sd card so cant get to them either.
The phone says [LOCKED] when booting using VOL+OFF.

Help? I have a brick, Do I need to bring it to a phone shop.
Thanks

You don't have a true brick, but it sounds like a "USB brick".

It is rather easy to fix if you are using 4Ext recovery, because one of the features of that ROM is a built-in "usb brick fix" command. In fact if you are S-Off but using a different recovery you could consider using fastboot to flash that recovery and using that command.

Otherwise there is a guide to fixing these here: http://androidforums.com/desire-tips-tricks/365476-guide-usb-brick-fix.html. A bit old but then so is the Desire ;)

Hi Hadron,
Ta for the quick reply, will have a read through the solutions and see if I can fix it up. Clockworkmod recovery installed - i'll have a browse through its options - didn't know my problem had a name so things may be a bit easier to resolve.
Best Regards

The quickest way to USB brick a HTC Desire is to use an app called ROM Manager. So if you have that on your phone uninstalling it will hugely reduce the risk of it happening again.
