Root htc desire on 2.2.2-how to root?

Hi I have a HTC desire for about a year now and would like to root it. I am running 2.2.2 according to my phone settings. Tried the unrevoked version but my firmware is too new? I'm a novice and not sure what to do.can any one help at all? Thanks bry

Ok, benefit of the doubt. You're on 2. 2. 2 so you can't use Unrevoked, you need to go with Revolutionary instead. But before going anything read the root and memory faqs, and the Revolutionary guide and docs on the revolutionary site and make sure you understand what you're about to do.
