Help HTC Desire Overheating

Onlyone

Lurker
I have an HTC Desire that overheated and melted while on charge. I sent it in for repair (believed that once they seen it they would replace). Instead the repair shop has deemed it physical damage! You can clearly see that it has melted from the inside.
I have been advised by HTC repair that they have never heard of this before. Strange? For some strange reason I do not believe them!

That's a different Desire model from the one we discuss in this forum. If you tell us which Desire it is we can move it to the relevant forum, where you may get a more informed response.

As for not believing them, I spend way too much time on phone forums and have never seen anything like that either (*). It looks like there was a short circuit in the charger circuit or port. What charger was that?

(*) Apart from when one guy tried drying a phone in a microwave - that wasn't pretty!

Thanks, @Hadron!

I'll get your posts moved over to the HTC 601 area for you, Onlyone...hang on a sec...

(okay, all done--my first move was a boo-boo to the 610 area which I noticed afterwards...we're all back to the 601 area now, though)

Welcome to our AndroidForums, Onlyone :).
