hello, is it possible to get a htc desire prepaid (no contract)? if so, what cards would you buy for that monthly?

You should be able to find this phone from many second hand places, ebay, gumtree etc.. lots of the 2 year contracts are up soon. Those who upgrade will be selling theirs.
