HTC Desire startup logo reloading, no hboot option

Hi Guys! Today I got this phone from my friend and she is really desperate to fixed it. She said it just rebooted one day and stuck on logo screen and continuously restarting.

Problem is that I cannot do anything, I tried pressing volume down + power but I cannot enter HBoot screen so I cannot do anything...

Is there anything else I can do or any other ideas?

I usually repair Samsung problem so this is my first encouter with HTC and I really could appreciate your help please :(

Pull the battery out for a few minutes before before trying to boot into bootloader. If fast start up mode was enabled (2.3 onwards on the Desire) it doesn't fully shut down without pulling the battery.

Not sure what else to suggest if you can't get into hboot. It's probably an overheat issue. Did your friend say it vibrated at all? 7 vibrations indicates terminal hardware problems.

Hadron is the Desire expert but this device forum is so quiet these days I'm not sure how often he checks here.

Not often enough, it seems. However, I don't think I'd have suggested anything different: couple of minutes battery pull then restart it with the volume key pressed down. Nicka knows the Desire well, after all :)

Once you are in the bootloader, if you want to factory reset via recovery the stock recovery's menu is hidden (heaven knows why HTC think that's a good thing to do). So when you get to the recovery screen you need to press power+volume up to get the menu. I'm not sure whether resets from the bootloader or stock memory affect the SD card, so perhaps remove it for safety (I only used custom recoveries for resets).

But as to the fix, as Nicka says it really depends what the cause is. Corrupt data preventing a boot will be fixed by a factory reset, system software corruption by reflashing using a ROM Upgrade Utility, and hardware problems are bad news.

If you need to try an RUU, let us know more about the phone (any carrier branding, software version, anything it says on the bootloader screen) and we'll see if we can suggest one.
