HTC DESIRE updated to v2.25.771.2

CBers

Newbie
Just had a FOTA upgrade of my stock HTC DESIRE (on 3) to v2.25.771.2 (Froyo), but can't find any specs as to what the upgrade does, or was for.

Anyone got a link to the change log please ??

TIA.

I don't think it does much, I had problems the other week the update kept failing to install, I think it uses more of the memory, the phone does not have a lot of memory in the first place!

I just installed the update at the weekend and it hasn't had any effect on my internal memory at all.

I bought my phone from eBay recently and it is on 2.29.405.5 - or am I looking at the wrong thing?

Desire noob :)

Once you know, it is quite simple, so allow me to educate :)

These software numbers only relate to HTC devices.

2.25.771.2

2.29.405.5

Green: This is the android version. 2.1, 2.2, 2.3 - So we see both of these are Android 2.2

Red: This is the branding. 405 is Unbranded (not software from a carrier/operator/Network). 771 is UK network "3"

Orange: This is the actual HTC version. The Second set of numbers (first Orange), the higher the number, the newer the release. Then the fourth set of numbers (second orange). whichever is higher again, is newer. Comparing two versions, if the first orange set are the same, the decision of which is newer is based on the second orange.

BUT: If your Red is different, then comparing the orange means nothing.

Hope this helps.
