HTC Desire vs ZTE Blade

I know the desire is a higher spec, def getting 2.3 compared to the blade maybe getting 2.2, but is anyone on here with both handsets? What do you think is better? For

How do you describe selling a high-end phone and getting a cheap phone?

Blade is not as snappy as Desire, and the custom ROMs are not as good (and bug free) as those of Desire.

Well I have used both; zte blade in UK known as orange San Francisco is a great phone for the price but -

Screen is just as good as desire, no kidding :-)

Down sides are - processor, this limits things - no flash, no automatic text reflow - internet is just not as good by half as the desire.

Camera has no flash but is OK for a 3.2mp camera.

It is easy to root, even universal androot works on the zte.

A great second phone to play with but a desire replacement it is not.

If your on a budget that's tight then its a great entry level android phone, probably the best in its price range. Knocks spots off the wildfire but don't think its up to beat the desire.

My wife has the San Francisco and I have the Desire.
The desire runs software that bit more smoothly. It's a bit quicker and more responsive. The San Francisco is very good for the price, I actually think the sound is better on it.

Personally I think the Desire is better, but for the price of the San Francisco you can't fault it.

Cheers boys.
I'll try get the better half to ditch her nok n8 and get a sf/blade so I can root it and mess around with it. Any good stable rom? Or gb Rom avail?

Try this - there is a link to a 2.2 version of Android (Froyo) which will let you put the apps onto the sd card. LINK

Or just try googling zte blade froyo. It will put some links up for you.

if you look at my list of phones you will see that i love htc, however , to replace my wifes stolen desire z , i bought her a blade, it is rooted with MoDaCo android 2.2 and runs sweet, occasionally hangs for half a second but otherwise faultless, screen is responsive, apps run well, for 100 quid it is a great phone, what other android phone has capacitive oled screen for a

I have both, and apart from the speaker on the San Francisco (ZTE Blade) the Desire wins hands down....but what else would you expect for such a big difference in price.

The San Francisco is a very good phone for the price though. I doubt you'd find a better one for the same money.

I have the Desire and my wife has the San Francisco which is now running Japanese Jellyfish, JJ runs smoother than the standard Orange rom. For less than
