HTC Desire

Lurker
I'm new to all this Root stuff so please don't ask me any compilicated questions, :)

I first brought my HTC Desire off eBay about a year ago (June 2011).
The screen wasn't working so I brought a new screen a few months after buying the phone and then replaced it with the non-working screen.

After I put in the new screen, I 'Hard Reset' the phone using the button method and ever since that day, the phone does boot up but just stays on the HTC Logo.

I need major help guys?

Hmmmm, hard to say.
If there is nothing on the phone worth keeping, just go to shipped roms. Com under Bravo -(the desires code name) then look for the 2.3 RUU.

That will flash Gingerbread but wipe everything off the phone.

The ruu? No, it should be an . Exe file which you run from your pc.

You can either charge your phone above 30%.then run the RUU or charge it up, turn it off, turn on holding volume down then run the ruu.

I've used an RUU twice, one worked fine when the phone was on, the other only worked when I turned on with volume down held.

Shipped-roms. Com
Look under Bravo - then at the bottom it should say something like gingerbread 2.3

I think it's a zip file you get, open it and you'll see an Exe file.

Run it.
Just charge your phone first
