HTC Desire's to get FroYo as soon as tomorrow?!?

yes the rumours are out again. Not holding my breath for anything until i get the update on my phone. but engadget has also mentioned the same thing. it all started i think with someone from HTC europe tweeting about rolling out froyo tomorrow (which is meant to be today?) fingers crossed this one turns out to be true
 
hi i rooted my phone by that i mean i now have the ability to install costume Roms however i still have the original T-mobile uk branded one on their and have not tweaked or changed it in anyway would i still get a OTA update.

Yes but you will lose root access as far as I know.
 
Just had email from business customer support at everythingeverywhere (what a fatuous company name!) that 2.2 isn't being released by Tmobile UK -as was - until end September

EverythingEverywhere is the name for the new combined company formed from the merged Orange and T-Mobile companies in the UK.
 
Just more crap rumors and nonsense. Reminds me of the sign my Dad's pub: "Free Beer Tomorrow".

I wish someone in an official capacity would get it together to put some information out there about an official release date. Its just been a ridiculous amount of time between the announcement of 2.2 and the release.

It's just serving to annoy people (me in particular) and putting pressure on the release. It better be damn good after all this waiting and speculation.

Thats interesting to know! Makes me feel quite stupid as I switched from Orange too T-Mobile due to Orange having a really poor signal where I live!
 
Why is it so unbelievable to get the update this soon? We are over the middle of Q3 now, so it's gettin due now...
 
It's confirmed: HTC have issued a statement that 2.2 rolls out to unlocked phones from this weekend, operator specific versions will be along over the next few weeks.

Yessssss.

"The Android 2.2 (Froyo) update for HTC Desire will start rolling out across Europe this weekend," said HTC in a statement. "As well as including the complete set of Android 2.2 features, the update will contain a few special additions of our own through the latest iteration of HTC Sense."
"The update will provide 720p video capture, HTC's App Share widget, as well as our enhanced HTC Caller ID, and improved multi-language keyboard. Also, though the update, HTC Sync will allow HTC Desire users to sync their music with iTunes."
 
great news, even though i'm currently locked to Orange i'm really tempted to sim unlock the phone for future custom roms anyway so may do this now to get Froyo early!
 
Apparently vodafone Desire's are unlocked, BUT they do run a slightly customised firmware so VF customers will still have to wait for VF to release the update.

T-Mobile have said theirs will be out in september!!!! Please don't make me wait that long VF :)
 
I have a Desire on Orange and it is definitely unlocked. It isn't customized in any way.I used my o2 sim card in it ntil the number got ported over. Does this mean I will get the update this weekend???
