Accessories HTC desktop cradle for incredible (official)

Yep, that's the same one they have had listed there for, well... forever.

At this point I have given up on the idea of a cradle for this phone. Seidio decided not to do one and apparently Verizon had to trash theirs due to overheating issues.
 
I just spoke with someone at HTCpedia and he advised me they don't know when the charging cradles will be in if ever? Grrrrrr what is the deal with this??? Motorola seems to have no problem supplying the accessories for the Droids?:confused:
 
in another thread we figured its because u cannot run sense in landscape mode
so with 2.2 coming that apparently is also an added feature
so we may see this dock when 2.2 froyo for sense comes out for the dinc
 
That's one of the reasons that was given. The other reason given by Verizon and HTC is that there seems to be an issue with the phone overheating while in the dock.
 
The Seidio rep said that they discontinued their's because the location of the charging port made it too difficult to make a dock.

Personally I think they were just blowing smoke up our butts, but who knows? Maybe it's true.
 
does no one else think that $40 for basically a small plastic stand is a little ridiculous? thats nearly the price of the 2150 battery with door...

Anything and everything at HTCpedia is over priced. I'm sure it will be cheaper when it hits Verizon's inventory.

Where did you get this rumor from? Doesn't seem like the phone would get hotter than any otherphone, like the droid for example, when docked and charging.

Seems like the lame concern about no landscape mode on the home screens would be a more legitimate issue. Personally I don't care about the landscape issue though. The purpose of the dock is to charge, and pretty much every app that you open while docked would show up in landscape anyway.

It's given out by Verizon as a reason about as often as they give out the landscape as an issue.
 
I still don't understand or agree that a reason for issues with the charging cradle is related to the screen orientation. And per the article right above this post, how could that even be a qc issue? It would more likely be a limitation of the phone itself. That said, I've given up on a landscape drop-in cradle. Not that it really matters because there are alternatives and the incredible is still a great phone even without the cradle.
