hi i have a satellite dish with 3 green flashing lights on my phone how do i stop them

That Icon indicated the GPS antenna is on. You can use the power widget to turn it off or go to menu>settings>location & security and un-check the box that says use GPS satellites.

Part of the confusion is that the icon changes with Android versions. Currently gingerbread uses a bullseye looking symbol for GPS.
