HTC Eris Memory

Ok I have a question regarding the Eris's memory.

I downloaded the Free Memory App so I can see how much free Ram I have. It seems to work fine but it is always showing that I am under 20% free memory.
Is that normal? Do I have that much stuff running in the background?
It seems that I am force closing my phone a lot just after trying to scroll from one page to another. I run ATK and kill anything that I am not using all the time.

On another note the phone also seems to run apps on its own. I will turn the phone on and a bunch of stuff is running that I didn't open up.

Any help would be appreciated. Keep in mind I am a smart phone newb. TY

Download 'TasKiller' - You can selectively kill processes that you don't want running in the backgound. It's really easy to use

Should I uninstall ATK?

use advanced task manager

i cant speak for the free one, i have the paid one (only paid app i have) and it works great.

I have the free one ... works just fine
