Help HTC Eris Reflow 2

My HTC Droid ERIS will not connect to the internet, and my friend told me to 'reflow' it. I have Googled how to do this many times but cannot find anything anywhere!! Please help!!

BTW it is no longer getting phone company service, it is like an iPod touch. I have connected to the internet before while it had no service but now it won't connect It will not even scan for service.

I am not sure what the term "reflow" means.

However, without phone service, the only way to get an internet connection is to use WiFi. Settings->wireless - is WiFi turned on? Connected to a valid WiFi network?
