HBOOT
Doesnt do anything when I choose any options (fastboot, recovery, factory reset, clear storage, simlock, image crc, show barcode). Ive held down the power button until it either shuts off or restarts and occassionally itll get to where the bottom buttons flash? but just goes back to hboot screen

Ok so here's the deal

First google android sdk and download that.

Now go find a copy of cwm for your device. An img file not a .zip

Now google how to install cwm via fastboot for your device.

Your going to haft to use the command prompt.

Once u have that, put a rom on your sd card. Boot into recovery. Wipe data/cache. Under advanced wipe dalvik cache.

Then go back and install zip from sd card.

Please don't use CWM for this device. It corrupts the /misc partition and is a real pain in the butt to fix.

Use TWRP if you choose to go this route. Using the SDK may not work if "USB Debugging" wasn't selected when the phone was bootable.

When you're in Hboot, select recovery, press power.

You'll see a screen with a triangle with an exclamation point in the center. Press and hold volume up, and down, then press and hold the power button all simultaneously.

This will take you to the stock recovery menu. Try and clear the cache, and do a reset from there. See if that works. If not, We'll see if we can get an RUU to work for you. :)

Almost forgot the most important part, Welcome to the forums!!! :)

@Granite1 - I selected Recovery and hit power button and nothing happened. it isnt responding to any of the options in the list. also tried holding down power for an extended amount of time and it just shuts off. hit power again and it just goes back to hboot.

@scotty85 - It was working fine then I went to turn down the main volume and it wasn't responding so I restarted it and it went into hboot screen

Thanks for adding. Havent messed with the lte version before. Just knew the general solution.

At this point you're going to probably need to run the RUU for your firmware version.

Give me a little while to see if I can locate one.

@Prepaidguy

It's all good, really appreciate you jumping in and helping :)
Everything except CWM is spot on. For some reason they abandoned this device and never fixed the recovery. So TWRP is our huckleberry. :)

EDIT:

I believe I've found the RUU you need. Follow the link below:
http://unlimited.io/jewel.htm

Look on the right side of the screen and select the Hboot 2.09 RUU. Once downloaded, extract the folder and then run the .exe file. Follow the instructions exactly as shown.

Let us know if this works. "Crossing my fingers"

It isn't connecting via USB, the only time the connection light comes on is if the device is turned off. I tried to run the second RUU while connected and on hboot and got ERROR [170]: USB CONNECTION ERROR
:(

EDIT:
Not sure if this will help, but this flashes real quick upon start (The SD checking stuff)

Nope, that is just Hboot scanning your SD card for boot flash images.

Sorry to say, at this point I think you need to take the phone into a store. It's got something really funky going on. The RUU software is the last resort when things go wrong, and if it won't take, it's not good. Sorry my man. :(

I'll take it in this weekend. I was just really hoping I could sort it out and get it working before then. lol. Thanks for all the help. I appreciate it.

try running the .exe with the phone in fastboot, not hboot(screen will display fastboot usb )

failing that, you can extract rom.zip from the .exe in this manner:
the .exe utilities can be finicky,so if you have trouble getting it to run, you can extract "rom.zip" in the following manner:
-start the utility
-check the "i understand" box to move on to the next screen
-hide the utility temporarily out of site
-search your C drive for "rom.zip". you will find it in a temporary location(it will be in a different spot each time you run the utility)
-open the folder location, and transfer rom.zip to a safe location on your PC.
-unhide and cancel the utility, youre done with it.
-rom.zip can be renamed to PxxxIMG and flashed in hboot, from a FAT32 sd card

you can then rename rom.zip to PJ75IMG (<- i think... is this right, granite?) and place the file on your sd card. make sure the sd format is FAT32

one last thot before attempting to run the 4.3 update ruu...

granite is facepalm still working on the latest OTAed builds? if so,i think we can s off without a booting device.well,at least i think we could if we were able to figure out a way to make the hboot selections responsive :( (forgot about that last bit for a minute)

@scotty85 - I can't get into fastboot. where it says
<vol up> previous item
<vol down> next item
<power> to select
For some reason it's backwards and using vol up will go down, and down button does nothing and power button does nothing. the only thing power does is turn the power off if held down long enough. if I hold power down to "click/select" something nothing happens.

Right... I forgot that for a minute :o using the SD card should work for you since it users the mode it currently boots to. :) let us know how that goes

@ Scotty: Yes it's PJ75IMG.zip for bootloader flashing.

Crap.

I was really crossing my fingers there. :(

Scotty is who I turn to when I can't figure an HTC problem out. So you're in good hands here. :)

@scotty85 - I tried and it started loading the zip and then failed signature checking. :/
http://androidforums.com/members/scotty85.html

Hmmm not quite sure what to think of that. Unless the zip has somehow become corrupt between extracting and moving to the sd card,it definately should not have failed the signiture verification. A "main version older" error wouldn't be surprising, but the signiture failure definately is. Maybe try the extraction process again, and temporarily disable any antivirus and security programs while you're doing it.

Also try the process with the other ruu's that granite gave links for.

I'll continue pondering, but uness we can get an ruu to install,I'm afraid its not looking very promising :(

I just thought I'd come by and say thank you for everyone who offered their help... I took the phone in to my carrier and apparently the volume rocker was broken. Haha. I am a bit embarrassed but at least it's fixed now!
