Help HTC EVO 4G Touch Screen - Acting up / Not responding

I've had the EVO since launch. My original phone was working great, but a few months ago it stopped charging. Sprint gave me a refurbished EVO to replace my defective one. It worked great for a while, but the last few days the touch screen does not seem to respond well. The bottom and left side are worse. It does not happen all the time, but it happens enough that it is irritating. Has anyone else had this issue? Can I take it back to Sprint and have them replace it? I hate having to drop off my phone with them for hours to "diagnose". Thanks for any advice/info!

I would take it back and tell them the phone you received is defective
 
my screen on my htc evo is not working and I dont know if it is the lcd or the digitizer.. when I touch it is dont respond so i kinda pull the digitizer up(the tape connected to the digitizer is not attached anymore) and was pressing on the lcd and the lcd is not responding to my touch either but all the colors and the screen works fine it just want respond to my touch can anyone tell me what is the problem?

I called Sprint and spoke to the rep. She tried to help me troubleshoot the phone and then basically told me to take it in to the store. She created a ticket for me. The only issue I have is that if they cannot recreate the problem they will just give me the defective phone back. We had to take my wife's EVO back 8 times before they finally replaced it. Hers kept restarting and would just go into a restarting loop. The phone was stock.
 
I took my phone in to Sprint and had to leave it for 2 hours. They checked the phone and had to change out the screen. They charged me $35 as my phone is out of warranty and I don't have the TEP plan.
 
My phone doesn't respond from time to time. It acts like it wants to but kind of just messes up, I don't know. I usually just reboot it and then its fine. Is yours stock. Mines tweaked pretty hard. Since I smurfed it out I have had less problems he adds in touch screen tweaks.
