Root Htc evo 4g

can anyone help with rooting my evo 4g ? my phone also has been flashed so i'm not with sprint will this mess something up as far as my service goes ? i have tried unevoked it did not work . know what can i do ? i would prefer a simple way to root my device. please feel frre to email me at stayc94@gmail.com

If they flashed you over to Boost or Metro, you're already rooted.

Do me a favor, go under menu / settings / power and make sure fastboot is unchecked.
Power the phone down.
wait about 10-20 seconds, then hold the volume down button then press and hold the power button, both at the same time until a white screen apprars with andy at the bottom riding a skateboard. This is called hboot.
Type exactly what you see on this screen.

Once we have the info from hboot we can help you more accurately.
