HTC EVO

the evo v is better. I have the evo v now. But rooting and s-offing is a whole new ball game than the triumph. Root you just get custom ics roms but you have to s-off to get jb roms. But overall pretty good development is going on plus the evo 3d cdma section on xda has tons of roms and me and g60 working on ubuntu. I have to say it is much better. Only problem.... No 3d camera on JB roms

i agree with the above post the htc atleast should be a better device, altho with how electronics are nowadays it always seems like a toss up lol

since VM took the triumph specs down i used Wiki to get ya some numbers to look at

Triumph

1GHZ Single core Processor
4.1 inch display
5 mp camera (rear)
0.3mp camera (front)
512mb ram
1gb storage
1380 mAh battery
bluetooth 2.1
usb 2.0
Multi touch - altho it never seems to work well

HTC

Dual Core 1.2GHZ processor
4.3 inch display
Dual 5mp cameras (rear)
1.3mp camera (front)
1gb ram
4gb storage
1730 mAh battery
bluetooth 3.0
usb i dont see listed but probly either 2.0 or 3.0
multi touch - ive never used this device so idk how well it works

Is there anyway to prevent the charging problem most of us seem to be having on the Triumph?

Being extra careful is really all u can do

But I've always been extra careful with my phone and my charge port just went out like a week ago, seeing as I found my order info and the phones more then 2 yrs old now I guess it lasted long enough lol

I also did what I seen others suggest, when it stopped workingi looked inside the cable first and saw the contact points were pushed up so I used a paper clip and pressed them down again and used the paper clip to pull the hooks up, but that only caused it to work for 24 more hours

Currently the strange thing is I have many micro USB charge cables and none of them charge the phone at all, unless I power the device off completely, then the non OEM charge cables all work lol idk why

When I had my Triumph I always used an external battery charger, the only thing that I plugged into the port was the hdmi cable, and that was very rare. As for the spec's for multi touch posted above, the Triumph supports a maximum of two and has a very difficult time whenever they cross paths, the Evo V/3D has four points and has no unusual problems when two or more coincide on the screen. And I have yet to see a phone, even the latest high end devices that currently support usb 3.0.

Yea lol I completely forgot they have the external battery chargers, that be the only other way to save charge port besides being really careful which as I said will only work for so long

And yea I figured the HTC didn't have 3.0 but then didn't list it on wiki or vm I think, being as USB 3.0 was supposed to start being native in PC's back last October I took a guess lol

And yea our phone says multi touch and I've noticed they don't like to cross paths but I've also had with my personal device where multi touch apps or games just crash whenever trying to touch 2 spots at once

And although I'd love to keep my phone for atleast 2 more years, since my charge ports shot like I said a few posts ago and vm finally no longer carries this phone, ill probly have no choice but to pick up a new phone soon, the HTC is my most likley choice but Ive enjoyed that they actually brought some new to vm devices like the sii and victory

The S2 isn't really a new phone like the Evo V/3D it's the VM version of the Sprint Epic Touch 4G variant of the SGS2, the Victory is a new phone though, although the price for what hardware you get is definitely not worth the money involved.

And considering it's specs, the Triumph is good with power consumption? Not! :D

Given on my current Rise I'm getting over 5 hours of batt even with heavy use(gaming, net, music, videos, and etc dont even use it for calling or sms) using numerous UI mods my(keyword) MT will get over 10 on single batt. How?By doing equivalent to it and not being on ics as higher drains more batt lower is self explanatory given its pretty much stock and not all that new crap
