HTC Explorer for radio streaming

Hi,

I'm looking for a smartphone to stream radio stations while a work. I currently use FM radio and the reception is useless most of the time. I would be steaming for 8 hours per day, and wondered if the HTC Desire could handle this? I could always carry a spare battery I guess. Would 2 batteries manage 8 hours of streaming with the Desire? Or maybe there's aonther smart phone on the market that would.

Thank you.

As someone who has used a few different phones for exactly the same thing you mentioned, I can tell you the best performing phone (by a long way) under those conditions was a My Touch 4G Slide. For streaming audio for extended lengths of time, I've never had anything to match it for reliability before or since, and I include the HTC One S in that assessment.

To take it one step further, the audio I listen to is sport from overseas, most of which I have to listen to through a proxy because of rights issues, so it's the ultimate test. MT4GS wins every time and I have absolutely no idea why, other than to say the snapdragon dual core processor was obviously very compatible with streaming audio.

To put it into context, I was listening to radio broadcasts from the desktop version of the BBC site through my browser and then through the proxy and back again for periods of five and six hours at a time and had zero issues, so it would handle your radio apps with ease.

And yes, you would need two batteries and maybe even three, assuming there was no way you could access power
