HTC Hero - Battery is shot - Upgrade Advice pls

My Sprint Hero battery seems to be shot. I'm getting only 5-6 hours out of it and the phone is heating up pretty bad. As of May 1st, I have my upgrade available with Sprint. The problem is, I'm itching for the Evo 3D. The dual-core is far too tempting, I should be good with it for at least 2 years.

What are my options here?

  • Drop $30 for a new battery and keep getting dragged along by Sprint regarding the release date of the Evo 3D.
  • Just go upgrade to the old Evo? What if the Evo 3D comes out in a month, would they honor another upgrade in that time?
Yeah, I'm quite frustrated. My company pushed some policy out to the phone that forces a lock, literally every 45 seconds of no interaction, as part of Outlook integration. It hangs constantly, sometimes taking 7 or 8 tries to get the password entered.

I've been waiting quite a while, my upgrade hits, and now there's no definitive date on the Evo 3D. Price would be nice to know as well.

What are your recommendations?

Buy a new battery from a reputable seller on eBay and wait for the Sprint HTC EVO 3D. I am waiting for that handset too. :)

You can find decent quality batteries for the Sprint HTC Hero on eBay. My friend who also has a Sprint HTC Hero got one and he said the longevity is at least equivalent to his OEM battery when it was new. ;)

Ditto what LBP said. And, there is the very good possibility that the Hero battery will work in the EVO 3D. No promises, but it works in the EVO 4G!

Most Sprint stores will give you a new battery. I got one last time I was in there.

Try lock picker from the market. It should help with your email problem.
