Dear All,

how are you doing today. My friend have HTC Hero Device. He was updating his ROM i think and some how messed with it. Now i was given to check the Device. When i power on device it get stuck on white screen having HTC logo over it for hours and When i go into recovery mode it gave me device with red warning sign over it with an exclamatory sign. So i cant to anything at recovery mode as well. i try reset device from fast boot but unable to do so.

i connected the device with my PC and tried a solution with adb commands but "adb devices" do not detect my device.

Please help me out with this other wise my friend is gona kill me as i suggested him to upgrade.

Regards,

Xeeshawn.

How did he try to do the upgrade? That red triangle sounds like HTC stock recovery, ie if he had a custom recovery it's been removed (eg by an RUU).

Can you do a factory reset from recovery? Try pressing the menu button on the red triangle screen - there is a recovery menu somewhere, though wiping data is probably all it will let you do.

If that doesn't work you may need to try to reflash it with stock firmware (a RUU) to get it working, then re-root if it was rooted. You can run the RUU with the phone in fastboot mode. However, I don't know this phone's software so cannot suggest which RUU.

I tried all the buttons on the red triangel screen but nothing happen. and i dont have any idea how can i root or update or do recovery or anything because i m unable to do anything.

I try the things from ADB commands. I attach the device with my PC and power on the device that get stuck on HTC logo and run command adb devices. it started the server but no device list and then i ran adb shell it says no device listed.

Adb won't work because the adb daemon isn't running when you have stock recovery (does with custom recoveries).

For the menu, a quick web search suggests pressing volume up and power together (press and hold volume up then press power).
