Lurker
I have an HTC Hero running stock rom. I have a new sd card that is four gig and my old one was two gig. Its rooted btw. I wanted my new one because i wanted to get a cyanogenmod rom but didnt have the space on my old one. I was wondering how should i copy the files onto my mew one and if i should format my sd card first. Or should i undo my root and copy all my pics and media onto my new one and then root.my phone again and then do cyanogenmod after of course backing up my rom. The reasomn why is because i heard when youroot your phone you download some stuff to your sd card so i just wanted to be safe. I have no apps on my sd card because it is not availibe on my stock rom. THANKS!

Hello and welcome aboard. I moved your thread over to the HTC Hero (rooting) section. Hopefully, you'll get an answer for your concern.

I've just don this with my rooted Desire HD from 16gb to 32gb.

Put the new SD card in my pc's card reader, put the old card in one of those USB adaptors, opened both cards up, selected the entire contents of the 16gb card and simply dragged into the new 32gb card.

The only thing it messed with was the ringtone and notifications tone?? everything else works as normal.

Just one quick question if i may, did you have to reroot your phone or were you able to run root commands without messing with the root other than changing the sd card with the instructions previously given?
