Help HTC Inc will not sync after google acct. password change

Refurb HTC Droid Incredible,not rooted, 2.3.4. I recently changed my password in Google acct. It works fine on my desktop pc but won't sync
( gmail, contacts, ..) to my phone. Notifications says "You entered the wrong password or your acct. has changed.Please re-enter password." Will not take new password. The phone is new to me and has only 8 apps and my contacts on it. Should I just do a hard reset and start over?

The only two options you really have are to try changing the password again, or do a factory reset. However, since you are rooted, you must do the factory reset from recovery, you can not choose the factory reset option within the settings menu.

I'd personally go with changing the password again, and making sure you have the right accounts on the phone in the: menu > settings > accounts and sync settings.

Oops, sorry, misread your post, thought you wrote that it was rooted... Then if necessary, you could use the factory reset option built into the phone's menus.
