HTC Inspire 4G Quick Keys

I listen to a lot of audio on my HTC Inspire 4G. On my iPod I am able to long press the volume button to switch tracks. Is there a way I can do this on my Inspire?

Put a music widget on the screen. Depending on the music player too, some have settings for going to the next track via the volume key long press or a double press of the headset phone button.
