Welcome to Android Forums!! Are you using pics that are 960x800?
I was having exactly the same problems. I have several photos in my gallery I would like to use as wallpaper but the new android system forces you to crop any photo you want to use. Completely unacceptable.
I took my phone to the local Verizon store and their people as well as telephone support were absolutely no help.
So I came home and went through several wallpaper apps and guess what! I found the perfect one.
It is called "Wallpaper Wizardrii." See if you can find that one in the app market and you will be amazed. It automatically brings up all the photos in my gallery and lets me choose which one I want to use. Then it gives me several options. It is the perfect solution.
