Help HTC Legend ignores a single contact

Recently, my phone has been ignoring all incoming sms text messages from only one contact. i use Handscent messaging app. The contact's thread does not appear in app, and I can only access it by going to her contact card. i receive the messages, but I am never notified. I don't know WHAT do to to fix it. i've tired deleting and re-adding her number, and it still doesn't work. i've tried messing around with the setting in app, and that has not helped. I've tried giving her a custom ringtone, and even that doesn't work. Any ideas?
