Help HTC M8 BOOTLOADER unlocked help!!!

ok so here's the whole story...

Have an HTC one M8 unlocked from Verizon that i use through straight talk. The charging port is F@ck'd and i can't charge my phone for crap so i bought another htc one m8 phone that was from factory and used on sprint. The guy i bought it from has it unlocked and they are telling me its now bootloader unlocked. I did my research on a bootloader unlocked phone and honestly i don't care i just want it to work without overheating and through straight talk.! i am honeslty just nervous on what the differences i have to worry about with a bootloader phone vs a originally verizon phone.

My HTC One M8 has an unlocked bootloader, my wife has the same phone with a bootloader locked - and we're on the same carrier.

It makes zero difference because I didn't modify things I ought not.

On its own, it's no big deal.

The phone would normally work just fine.

You want to check with the IMEI tool here -

Straight Talk doesn't have CDMA coverage everywhere, but if your old one was already on Straight Talk, you should be OK for that part.

Now - you want to check what was done beyond the bootloader unlock.

Main settings, power - see if there is an option called "fast boot" - if there is, it's running KitKat and you want to turn it off (not checked).

Power off.

Hold volume down while powering on - you'll enter the bootloader.

Tell me everything it says from the top of the screen down to and including the date.

It has a fastboot option in this screen.. i called straight talk to activate the phone and its not working... i used att towers through straight talk last time on my verizon phone and it was compatible... they are saying that my new phone is not compatible because it was used with sprint... but its not a sprint phone from what i am understanding... and the software is a little different from my last one.. the new one has extreme power savings and what not the old one didn't... any suggestions?

M8_whl is without question a Sprint phone.

The GSM radios in the Verizon model are openly available, and because of that, that version is easy to move to a GSM network like AT&T.

The Sprint GSM radios are not normally available - however - as memory serves, there's a root modification to make them available.

At the top of the FASTBOOT screen it should have also said LOCKED, UNLOCKED or RELOCKED.

And if it wasn't returned to stock it would say TAMPERED or something else (I can't remember the other).

If you're going to proceed, I'll need that as well.

If you want to try the GSM modification, ok, but it might be better to send it off for that - and I know an expert that may be willing to help for a small fee.

Please don't think I'm trying to scam you - I'm just trying to be clear that a radio mod is not for the technically faint-hearted and one false move and you could convert it into a paperweight.

If you want to attempt it yourself, ok, I'll give expert advice and point you to the governing experts on the mods but I'll take no responsibility for any errors leading to a paperweight or an atomic detonation ok.

If I take you through this and you succeed, I won't say no to a cup of coffee via PayPal. I don't require it and I won't be put out if you don't - but I *never* ask for that, so that's another warning about the complexity level you may be in for.

i would be open to finding a solution for this.. i payed 145 for this phone i just want this damn thing to work haha. also do you know anyone who could repair my old phone for a decent price? it may need a new charging port along with a battery replacement.. i actually opened my old one up and did a charging port change myself and it worked great for a month... than... it doesn't charge yet again.. so this is a sprint phone... great... sprint sucks... :(
