Root HTC Magic partially bricked

Hi everyone,

Yesterday i tried to root my HTC Magic, but it kinda failed.

Now, it gets stuck at the Rogers screen (Rogers is the carrier, its the first screen you see when you boot). I can get in Fastboot mode but i have absolutely no clue what to do in order to unbrick the phone.

I don't care if i have to put a custom ROM or the original one, i just want to have a useable phone.

I'd like to have detailed instructions on how to proceed and where to download the stuff i need.

This is what i did:

I tried this: Magic Rooting - Android Wiki but the thing is, Method 1 didnt work for me, the line :fastboot boot recovery-new.img didnt work, it did what its doing now (ie booting but freezing at first screen) but by removing the battery and putting back in, it booted normally.

Then i tried method 2, but with the update.zip from method 1, this time it worked, i was able to apply the update, but when it rebooted, it froze, and now it freezes every time i boot, but i can still get in fastboot

i didnt touched the SPL.

I tried formatting the sd card, copy pasting the file SAPPIMG_Sapphire_TMUS_1.88.531.1_COC10_release_sig ned.nbh in it and boting in HBOOT but it didnt do anything.
 
i've bricked mine trying to update with Non chinese language. Is there anywhere i can find a step by step guide to sorting this out? thanks
 
This applies to Rogers with a PVT 32A Board if its a 32B Board get the original software from either HTC or wherever the phone comes from ie Voda or Tmo

I feel your pain I have been there but its not a problem

What you need to do is get the update from the rogers webpage www.rogers.com/wireless or from the HTC website take the Rogers file

Install HTC Sync downloaded again from HTC or Rogers

Run the update that you downloaded and follow instructions

Make coffee and watch it reinstall to Rogers Out Of The Box State

Then goto How To: Root the HTC Magic in One Click! | The Unlockr

I sent it back, got an RA number from the retailer. Not gonna fiddle when i finally get my replacement.

1)You should create a golden card

2)Using some specialized softwares format it and loads sappimg.nbh file

I think my phone was bricked really worried lot because i am not a rich guy i spend 12 hours to fix it

I have a Rogers HTC Magic 1.5 I want to upgrade it to the Sense. I do not use Rogers services. I live in Asian and use a China Unicom SIM card. Can I update to the Sense from the Rogers website? Or will that brick my phone? Thanks
