HTC Magic

I have an old HTC magic which I want resurrect as a basic text and call phone for when on holiday (business phone dies when I leave UK airspace).

Unfortunately when it was upgraded to 2.0 or 2.2 it became largely useless so I want to go back to 1.6.

How do I do it?

I need basic steps as I am not all that familiar with some of the terminology and jargon around Android.

I had the same phone and when it updated to 2.2 it became laggy as hell and nearly unusable until I did a reset.

Hold and press all the buttons until the screen asks if you're sure you want to reset etc.

Do that and your phone should be nice and smooth again and still be on 2.2

Just make sure you backup anything you need before doing it.
