Help HTC one beats. unauthorized app

I was giving an HTC, one with beats audio software from a friend the phone worked fine but shortly after receiving the phone I notices a slight overheating problem that would acure occasionally, and my phone making several attempts to update the software. I didn't think this was I unusual however one day I notice a random app ( photo editor) had installed it self without my permission I had attempts to UN installed the app to no avail. Finally I had to do a hard reset and it's been several months now but that same "PHOTO EDDITOR " app is back and but this time I'm able to uninstall the app but if I turned my phone off upon reset it automatically generates

Can you clarify a few things:

Which HTC phone model is it (full model name, not "One" or "Desire", as there are a lot of them) and what software version is it running? And does this "photo editor" app appear in your Play Store listing or not? This info will help work out whether this is a genuine system app or not.

When you talk about the phone making attempts to update the software, do you mean system updates or app updates? They are very different things.

Have you ever installed software from sources other than the Play Store, and is the option to install from unknown sources (in your security settings) enabled or not?

You say you were given it: had the person who had owned it previous made any unofficial modifications, or been in the habit or installing apps from unofficial sources? It's possible that you were given it with some problem already installed, if you don't know its history.
