Root HTC one m8 no operating system?

Ok, right site then (just checking) - so if you want to go for it follow one of the methods in graffixnyc's xda post.

Most of these aren't nandroid backups at all - a nandroid will only cover software backups (ROM/kernel etc). They are full RUUs that include GPE firmware as well as the system ROM/kernel, plus there are also a number of GPE firmware only packages on there. If you want to go for the full conversion including the GPE firmware, plus the ROM/kernel, then you probably want either one of the top 2 RUU files listed under Build 5.1 - the difference is the first is not rooted, and the second one is already rooted for you (i.e. will probably include Superuser or SuperSU).

You can still try a GPE rom without doing the full conversion by installing, for example SkyDragon GPE here:

this works with Sense firmware, as long as it is up to date - I know because I've tried it ;) but went back to a Sense rom 'cos I like some Sense features (one person's feature is another person's bloat :) )
