Help HTC One M8 Sound Issue

My htc one m8 android version 5.0.2 sound is not working. When I go to play anything, a ringtone, alarm, video, music, incoming calls etc. No sound will play. Ive restarted it and whenever I do the start up sound plays perfectly fine so it's not a speaker issue. Does anyone know how to resolve?

Hi Nicolelyn2 and welcome to Android Forums. You might want to go into your settings>sound and notifications and make certain everything looks normal... especially the Do not disturb option. I hope it's as simple as that to fix. If nothing looks amiss in your settings, you might think about anything that you've installed lately. You might have added an app that is not behaving.

-Do you have bluetooth enabled and connected to anything?

If the above post does not work try restarting your phone in safe mode, does the issue persist? If the problem goes away after you restart in safe mode it's a good bet it's an app causing the issue. If not then it is a more serious issue that may require you to reset the phone.

1. Press and hold the Power key.
2. On the screen, touch and hold Power off under Phone Options.
3. When the 'Reboot to safe mode' message appears, tap RESTART.
4. When the phone restarts it will be in safe mode.

After you are done you can exit safe mode by restarting the phone.
