HTC ONE M9 Mirrorlink

Oldcorn

Lurker
Hi all

I'm new to the forum and I am looking for help with the mirrorlink feature on my phone, I have a Sony XAV602BT and when I plug it in the phone goes into mirrorlink USB mode but the screen says reconnect mirrorlink device and wont show the screen

Any help would be appreciated

Chris

I am having the same problem on my unit. What firmware are you running in the Sony? Mine says 1.3 but Sony says 1.3 does not exist.

So what do we know.
Firmware is up to date
HTC M8 does work HTC M9 Does not

What is the difference between the M8 and M9 as far as mirror link goes? Are they running the same OS? If not can we roll back to the previous version?

Did you have the M8 previously mate? I thought it was an issue with mirrorlink 1.0 vs 1.1 however the M8 is 1.1 and that worked, I tried calling Sony and they just flat out refused to help other than to say it was not supported and HTC although pleasant enough couldn't help either

Only reason I got the phone was for mirrorlink as I knew my old s4 wouldn't work but tried an m8 and that worked

I did not have an M8 but I saw somewhere that it did work. However they might have had the M8 confused with an older model. It is pretty ridiculous that the support is so limited. It wouldn't be difficult for them to roll out an update to the receiver to add 1.1 support.

I am in the same boat. I bought the M9 because I thought it would work. I may change the OS on my Old HTC DNA to one that has Mirror 1.0 I don't see any other options.

Do you think it would benefit us to join a Sony forum for any additional help or do you think this is a htc issue?

It is a Sony issue. I have actually gotten a response from Sony on the Amazon Web page. Posting negative reviews for their products is very bad for their sales and they tend to respond.

Here is a link I found that said the M8 does work. The Sony Xperia Z3 works as well I tried one of my friends phones. It just doesn't support 1.1 Mirror link which is what the M9 and the newer phones have.

Here is the link to the Amazon page where I posted my review. Sony responded on it saying they would pass the information along but I don't know how long that will take. I would suggest posting a review of your experience as well.

Hi
I couldn't see the reply from Sony however the m8 is version 1.1 as is the m9 so if that worked the m9 should also

The functionality on the M8 was lacking according to that poster. Sound did not work.

I tried out a Galaxy S4 and it did not function either. It looks like Sony designed this thing with only their phones in mind, and some other phones happen to be able to work with it by accident.
