Help Htc one mini power button broken

cr4cker

Lurker
Dear community,
I tried to find someone with the same problem then me, but I haven't been successful. So I gonna tell you about my problem.

Similar to other users, my power button is broken..probably because of some salt water..how ever..
But my cellphone is still with battery and I managed to install the "power to volume" app.
But now I feel like in the movie crank.. if the battery is dead, it stays dead.. there is no way to put it on again..or is there some kind of preparation I can do.

Unfortunately I am in Brazil right now, and will stay here 4more month, because of university, and there is absolutely no support over here.
Thanks a lot so far!

If it's broken and it switches off, you're kinda goosed. :(

I'd just make sure you don't run the battery down to zero. You could setup a tasker profile to play a really loud warning sound when you get down to 10% or something?

I put mine in the freezer for some hours and left it to defrost then it came on automatically. What a wonder. I have tried this many times and it turns out to work all the time

Just remove the power button and press the switch directly, it's faster than your freezer method.

My HTC doesn't need the power button, when I put it in a gel case the switch isn't accessible so I use two different apps to simulate the power buttons.

Mine is shattered completely. The brown tape-like material beneath the on button (the switch??) cut off.

There's no button. The button normally presses on the brown tape pushing on a flat surface. Initially, when the button broke, I would place the brown tape that extends fromthe interior on the area then use steel to touch it to power on but after that too cut off there was no way other than the freezer I've since moved to another phone I only posted here to help somebody.
