Help Htc one s - Dropped in water

Hi there, I have just (30 mins. ago) dropped my HTC one S in water. I picked it up really fast and at first it was kinda normal, I was about to turn in off to dry and so on but it restarted itself and I got a message 'Process android acore has stopped' and the touch screen is not working. I could not press 'ok' and so on. But except that, everything else is running on the background as I see...

I dryed it, left in in rice. Before that I did factory reset but still same error 'Process android acore has stopped' and the touch screen ain't working.

What are my chances for it to run tomorrow ?

and

is there a way to get rid of that error 'Process android acore has stopped' because everything else - well the screen will dry out I suppose - is working.

do I have any chance ? or should I start saving money for a new one ?

thanks

put it in a sealed bag of rice for 24 hours with everything out battery and back cover.
u should have taken out the bat and everything once that happened and let it dry.
good luck

thanks but the HTC One S doesn't have a removable battery. well I have left it in a sealed bag, let's see what's gonna happen tomorrow.

if the screen comes back on, what can I do to get rid of the 'Process android acore has stopped' error - if the factory reset won't help ?

thanks

im assuming it has to do with something that shorted. see if it goes away after the rice treatment. also would be good if you held a vacuum to the ports NOT blow dryer even if on cold. just a vacuum then put back in sealed bag of uncooked rice

the sealed rice didn't work so far. Still not working - the screen. I will leave in rice for one more day and we'll see.

I just thought, since everything else is working, should I take it to the place where I bought it ? I bought it just one month ago, alas! :) maybe they won't notice that it was dropped in water and the warranty somehow would cover it ? Just a miracle that would be :))

If I remember correctly manufacturers put strips of special paper in their phones that turn a certain colour if they get wet so that they know if they've got wet or not.

well yes they do, I've looked for one on my phone but couldn't find it. so I did some internet searching and found out that there are two types of HTC One S, as far as I understand.

on the one, which has the indicator, it looks like this :

but on my phone it is like this :

today, I did finally accept the fact that it will not get any better and went to a repair shop to get it fixed.
In the city I live in there is no HTC Official Service center, thus I either have to wait minimum one month, send the phone to the Service Center, wait for a respond etc. So I just decided to give it a try and lose the warranty op.

they will call me today, and tell me what is wrong and how much it will cost.
I'll post here the result for future problems that people might have...

thanks anyways

It might work like you never dropped it or it will work here and there with some occasional errors or it wont work at all.

Goes for all electronics.

That is true i had one that dropped in the toilet while it was on removed and forgot to remove battery put in rice for 3 days it worked very well . It had a bubble in the screen which still is there and it still works ....some electronics take a beaten and still keep on ticken

well I took the phone out just now and its not turning on, plugged the charger in and no led light is showing up. After i hold the power button for 10 seconds the bottom button lights flash once , i'm going to let it charge for abit longer or put it back into the rice.

You was to let it sit after removing a. Battery from phone . And the phone from rice for about 2 hours then let charge for about 2hours . Then go in on it . How long u left in the rice

My daughter dropped hers in the toilet. Even after days in rice, it turns on but the screen is dark with a green tint. It's unusable. It's really too bad because everything else seems ok.

Tried turning it on today still no response, so I think its dead. I'm going to send it to htc saying the phone wont turn etc or would they just find out its been water damaged. Shall i leave the phone in rice longer or shall i accept the fact its dead and i need a replacement?

Well do u have insurance on the device i know spint will open and look to see if water damage indicator or if its been wet . But if you have insurance u will get a phone back
