Help HTC One S PC connection

Have upgraded to this phone froma HTC wildfire.
Wish to download some pics,
The Wildfire still talks to the PC and i can access the folder holding the pics., but all i get from the One-s is a request to 'insert a disk into drive K' ( which is the one that pops up on MY comp screen when i plug the phone in via the USB cable.)
I have checked the connection status which shows as Disk Drive
Any ideas why the new phone does not want to speak to the PC?

Thanks

HTC One S runs a newer version of android than your Wildfire.

Your Wildfire uses the "USB Mass Storage" (UMS) protocol when you plug it in, much like a USB flash disk.

However with newer versions of Android, Google removed support for USM for "Media Transfer Protocol" (MTP). Which the One S (Ice Cream Sandwich) uses.

That said, your One S should still be accessible from your PC when you plug it in.

What version of Windows are you running? After plugging your device in, head in to My Computer, your device should be listed there as a "media device" or "other device" and not as a disk drive (for example: "K:\").
