HTC One SV Internal Memory issue

I keep getting a warning message that my Phone storage is low and also that due to this I may not receive SMS.

Yet when I connect to Windows, I see 2.78gb of 4.14gb FREE. While there is 21Gb free of 29.7gb on my external card.

I have hardly any extra apps installed, most have been moved to the external SD so what the devil is the problem here/?

Any ideas?

What you're seeing when you connect your phone to your computer is the amount of space remaining on the user accessible storage (both internal and external). You're very likely running out of space for apps (this will become extremely apparent if you open Settings > Apps and look at the internal storage shown at the top of the Downloaded tab)

yes your app storage and internal storage are much different.you only get very lil app storage,alot is tied in with them installing senseless apps into the system.your internal storage was an option for people that didnt have an external card.it doesnt actually write much to this phone storage if anything.you can try installing link2sd and gaining more storage that way.your external card must be partitioned though and usually you should only need 4 gigs extra so make your external 4 gig ext4 using aparted in play store and the rest fat.then open link2sd itll ask you what you want to link 2.pick ext4.once it reboots reopen link2sd and hit the menu at top right select multiselect and click the icon for all boxes it can move to this then menu again and select create link.check all boxes you can and let it run.this will solve your internal dilema.to see the new storage go to link2sd and menu and storage info,youll see its pushing those files into a hidden storage on your external.pay like 2 dollars and you can get plus version and move your internal data too for even more clearance.hope this helps

Actually one swapped mod can correct and give you at least four more gigs storage.my new update to my backup actually implements this
