HTC one X - Get android updates direct from Google?

Not sure if this is possible and I think the Nexus phones already do this?

My HTC One X is on Rogers but I think this would apply to any carrier and wanting direct updates?

Not sure maybe I am asking the wrong question fairly new to Android.

Hey FeedbakBWR, welcome to AF! :)

Unfortunately, it's only Nexus devices that get updates directly from Google. You'll either get them from Rogers (if your handset is branded) or directly from HTC.

My phone has no branding on the case only way to tell its Rogers is turn it on. So I would assume I have to wait to get updates from Rogers?

Yeah, they'd most likely come from Rogers.

If you head to Settings -> About -> Software Info, does your software number follow the format x.xx.401.x? Anything with a 401 in it is unbranded.

Nah my software number is:
1.73.631.1

oh well. Thanks for the great info though.

That's a bummer. I thought I had an unbranded Handset here in Thailand. Been waiting on updates. I was wondering why they were slow to come.

I have 1.28.707.10

Coming to think of it there are a couple of
Singapore telecom apps I couldn't delete.

I know its a bit fussy bit I know I'm going to be falling out of love with my One X now :'(
