HTC One X is Superior in my view...

I had a Galaxy S3 since launch and was very excited about it...but in my opinion the One X is superior in almost every way.

1. Better build quality by MILES.
2. Sharper screen.
3. Sense being better then touchwiz is an opinion, but one I believe to be true. No lag whatsoever, super smooth experience.
4. Battery is astounding.
5. Camera is exceptional. Maybe not as great as the S3, but I think it takes better photos. Video quality is slightly better on the S3, but just by a bit.

1. NO. S3 may be plastic-y but at least both my S3s don't make the annoying creaky sound. HTC lied when they said One X has excellent build quality.

2. Now that I have an HTC One X, I think I prefer S3 display by a wide margin.

3. Sense is a better "looking" UI but it lags actually, so often.

4. LOL. Battery is outstanding? Seriously?

5. S3 camera is far and beyond better, no pinkish tint. Just like what GSMArena said, HTC camera is sub par.


I've had iPhone 3G, 3Gs, 4, 4s, Galaxy Note in the past and now I have 2 S3s and HOX and I think HTC One X is by far the worst smartphone I ever owned:

1. Signal issues (worse than iPhone 4)
2. Battery issues
3. Lag issues
4. Creaking (build material) issues
5. Mediocre music player
6. Cheap packaging
7. Poor camera

You must have a poor example of the One X, i get around 40 hours per charge on a regular basis.
Also on Antutu benchmark my phone is just a whisker behind the SGS3 in speed tests & that's all on stock.
The only part i will agree on is the box it comes in is cheap, but then i brought it for the phone not the box.
 
HOX is teh awesome.

My battery is fine.
Tegra games = woot
camera = wicked (no pink here)
Tethered speed = fast fast fast
reception &3g = blinding
others = no creak, dolphin friendly packaging.

1. 100% true. For people still dreaming, checkout the drop test video on youtube. S3, cracked open and dropped dead in first shoulder height fall. HOX and 4S were the only survivors.
2. 100% true. S3 has lower pixel density.
3. 100% true. Just try pinch on S3 and it will move like a snail.
4. Yes, it's great. With moderate use i get around 50hrs.
5. Indeed. It is a F/2 camera with amazing low light capabilities. S3 just dies as you bring the light down. Yes, video is better in Samy, no doubt about that.

We should give it to Samsung where it deserves and only place it does is marketing effort. Only if HTC had good marketing people it would be selling in millions.

I agree with others, you must have had a faulty device because I haven't got any of your problems.

I've never used a S3 so I'm going to go on YouTube videos.

1. Haven't had any signal issues whatsoever, always on H too. May depend on the network though.

2. I went to Italy for 3 days a few weeks ago, forgot my European plug, I only charged my phone for a total of 20 minutes in a bar that had one, it lasted until I got home with 1% left, awesome! Okay, I didn't have mobile data on but I took 200 pictures and 4 full HD videos totalling about 20 minutes and loads of texts.

3. Yeah, I kind of agree with you on this one, it is one think that annoys me about Sense is the lag when swiping between homescreens. TouchWiz is just plain awful looking!

4. Fine build quality here. Especially for the amount of drunken times I've dropped it :D

5. No idea on this one, I love the pictures my HOX produces, I think it's the first phone I've had where I'm completely happy with the pictures and videos. Don't know about comparisons though.

The music player can be changed quite easily and wouldn't put me off buy a phone and seriously, who cares about the packaging, I don't even know where mine is :D

Come on, the S3 is a great phone but so is the HOX, faulty phones happen so it maybe that.
 
Gotta agree with the OP. I have both phones in the house (S3 is the wifes) and I have compared them at everything... I haven't found the S3 to lag though and it has a slightly faster stock browser but it gets beaten in every other department.

I do think looking at some of the posts that some people have dodgy One X's as I haven't had any problems with mine, not one thing... even the battery seems to have improved since first getting it, get a full day and night with plenty to spare off one charge... and I'm always using my phone.

The S3 is a nice phone and certainly looks better in person than in the pics of it but the things like S Voice are just gimmicks, especially with the google voice controls coming in JB. I wouldn't swap my One X for any phone that is available at the moment. I will be trying the new nexus when one comes out if it has better specs.
 
Sigh... Well this looks like it is going in a useful direction. They are both great phones, full stop.

Neither will enhance your nether regions, make you smell better or be more confident and attractive to the opposite sex :)
 
As I said in the SGS3 forum thread counterpart to this one taking the opposite viewpoint - Nothing like a little competitive fun. :)

But, let's not be having any more use of the word fanboy, that makes it personal.

People like what they like, they experience what they experience, and Android is all about choice, best fun to everyone here enjoying theirs! :).
 
I love my One X too and haven't had any problems so far. Not at all regretting getting instead of the S3.
