HTC One X or Galaxy Nexus for AT&T??

I am in the market for a high end android phone. I love the galaxy nexus because I really want the pure google experience. But I need some advice does it make sense to go with a phone this old when another nexus device might be around the corner? The other phone I was looking at was the htc one x.. which I would probably immediately root.. Is the htc that much better than the galaxy nexus? Is the 4g lte on the htc that much better than the hspa+ on the galaxy nexus? I really don't know what makes more sense to buy, any advice or help would be great

Well if you want the Nexus for at&t it'll be the old version (Nexus S).

I was debating between the two, chose the Nexus. Ordered one from Amazon which was faulty, then got one from Google which works perfectly, couldn't be more pleased. Radios work really well, I get 4g a lot. The phone is really quick, battery's good and the JB update is already available.

If you are looking for the pure android experience go with nexus it might be older but it is keept up to date. If the pure android experience is not a big deal then go with the one x. I have a s3 and the lte is fast but what's the point if hspa+ is enough

thanks for all your responses.. so the galaxy nexus w/ jellybean probably makes more sense than the htc one x with cyanogen mod 9.. and as far as hardware goes they both don't have sd card slots they have similar screens.. would we say the build quality is around the same for both?

One other thing to consider is that the battery on the One X is sealed, meaning if you use your phone heavily it is likely not going to make it through the day.

GSM GNex > One X. Removable battery, and JB 4.1.1 = best mobile OS currently out. Plus, unlocked pentaband and no contract is a steal for $350

Hey, I moved this to the Device/Carrier Comparison forum. Thanks for understanding. :)

PS, I LOVE my GNex with Jelly Bean, however I am a huge HTC fan, and would have a strong pull towards any decent HTC phone on Verizon... Too bad right now they decided the One X didn't need to go to Verizon. :p
