HTC one xl WIFI and Bluetooth not working

Just got this HTC One xl running android version 4.0.3 and my phone's WiFi and bluetooth will not turn on. When trying to turn on, it will say 'Turning on...' for a few minutes then continue to say 'Error'. I'm in need of assistance. What can I do to it?

Please help.

If you've just got the device, you could try a factory reset as you'll have minimal data to lose.

If you have a decent data allowance/connection, you should have a couple of system updates waiting, that might resolve as well.

Will upgrading the OS version to 4.3 or 4.4 solve the issue?

You'd need a custom ROM for that, the highest the XL is going to get officially is 4.2.2.

Are you sure you want to do that if Bluetooth & WiFi don't work?

Have you tried a factory reset?
