htc sendation wont play through auxiliary cable

Hi, I'm new on here because I'm having problems with my HTC sensation XE with Beats. I cannot get it to play through auxiliary?? My headphones work great .. Iove them but I thought I could play through my home stereo and car stereo using the auxiliary cable. Any help would be appreciated x

So I know from my experience, the volume coming out of the phone is VERY quiet in my AUX input. Have you tried turning up the volume of the phone and the vehicle to see if you can hear it then?
