Help HTC sensation Wifi issue (sleep policy is NEVER but still sleeps?)

HTC sensation XE : can't get WiFi to stay ON when the phone goes to sleep. I have changed the WiFi sleep policy to "Never" but the WiFi still goes offline and comes back couple of seconds after I turn on the power button. I know it is a battery drain to leave it on but I really need the instant email alert functionality without mobile data plan.

I wonder if Juice defender has done anything to it, because this never happened before. I uninstalled it and did a factory reset but still the same!

Hi,

I am having the same sort of problem.

I have a Samsung GT-S5570 or "Galaxy Mini" which is a GREAT phone overall for the cost and I'm totally happy with it. The ONLY ISSUE I have with it is this wifi sleep issue.

I have set the policy for wifi sleep to "never" but it seems the phone still sleeps the wifi when it feels like it.

Can't seem to work out why. I live in the Slovak Republic, but I'm American and so I use "groove IP" (a great app by the way) to use google voice to speak to my family and others...it is actually cheaper for me to call the USA than my nieghbors across the street! Crazy....but only with my mobile internet does it work properly....isn't that ironic? With my wifi in my own home it's unreliable as it cuts out.

What's happening? Why? Why would wifi drop off from my own home wifi router when the setting is at "never" sleep?

Any help or advice on this matter is appreciated it.

Thanks in advance!

Cheers. BW
